Position summary

Raremark ( is looking for a Bid Manager to lead on the delivery of responses to client requests for proposals (RFPs). The role demands excellent skills in numeracy, verbal and written communication, organisation and negotiation; as well as meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure. The Bid Manager will bring rigorous project-management capabilities into Raremark’s business development function, ensuring a timely and competitive response to each RFP, and to the highest of standards. The position would suit an individual who is already working in a bid management/vendor management (or similar) role in the biopharmaceutical industry. Experience in the business of clinical research is essential. The position offers excellent prospects for career advancement.


  • Lead on responses to all client RFPs by creating internal & external budgets, and writing proposals; from initial bid to follow-up
  • Lead on responses to all client requests for information (RFIs)
  • Liaise internally (with Raremark’s business development team) and externally (with clients and vendors/partners), as needed, for RFP and RFI responses
  • Report to Raremark’s senior team, weekly and monthly, on the status of all current proposals
  • Create business development reports for monthly board meetings
  • Help manage Raremark’s business development pipeline by updating customer relationship management (CRM) and internal records
  • Own Raremark’s business development templates and process documents, including for: budgets, proposals, new contracts, board meetings, and company presentations; with quarterly updates to ensure timeliness

Experience & competencies

  • Life sciences degree (minimum 2:1)
  • At least 5 years’ experience in clinical research; ideally in bid management/vendor management for contract research organizations (CROs), other vendors or pharmaceutical/biotechnology sponsors
  • Fluency in the creation and manipulation of budgets for large projects
  • Responsibility for budget management
  • Responsibility for new business pipeline management
  • Professional qualification in project management
